Methanol Holdings Trinidad Limited (MHTL) built seven petrochemical plants to produce fertilizers and melamine in Point Lisas, Trinidad. During this project our engineers successfully completed the following tasks: Commissioning of 28 feeders 13.8 kV, commissioning of 143 feeders 4.16 kV ABB UniGear switchgear type ZS1 with ABB REF542plus relays, as well as the commissioning of ABB’s RED670 transformer differential protection system. “There are worse things in life than working in Trinidad & Tobago. The landscape of these islands is fascinating. Everything on this huge site has been very well organized, which made it a lot easier for me to be efficient. Connecting more than 170 feeders to the power grid is an achievement we can be proud of”, said a commissioning engineer who worked on this project.
