IRON ORE PLANT

The Brazilian Company Vale do Rio Doce (Vale) is building an iron ore pelletizing plant at the port of Sohar, Oman. Our engineer, who started this project in Oman in September 2010, says, “The ABB/Vale project is amazing due to the very high number of MV panels we tested and adjusted to the customer’s needs. In the pellet substation you can find a single line busbar with 64 MV panels in one single row which looks fantastic and works perfectly.” To date he has commissioned four 6.6 kV substations and more than 150 feeders. The project included commissioning ABB relays REF542plus, differential protection relays ABB SPAD 346C and voltage regulators ABB SPAU 341C.
