The Beni Suef cement plant, 120 km from Cairo, was expanded with a second production line. “It was a big challenge to commission and energize the new line in the Beni Suef Cement plant because we had to energize the MV distribution network a long time before the main supply station was ready”, the commissioning engineer said. “We commissioned around 30 ABB UniGear panels and setup protection for temporary supply in order to speed up commissioning in all fields. We also started the biggest raw mill motor in the plant without any difficulties. Working in desert conditions and exploring the Egyptian way of life was really interesting“, he continued.
