Icelandic Aluminium Co., Ltd. (ISAL) decided to add 60,000 tons of new capacity at their Straumsvik smelter which is a 62% expansion. ABB got the contract to supply the complete electrification solution for the expansion, including AC800 high power rectifiers. Aspecto's SCADA engineers have been engaged by ABB to do the commissioning of the DC busbar isolators and rectifiers control and cooling system which is a special application based on ABB MicroSCADA 9.3.
